Creating a Time Worn Look: My First YouTube Video

Updated: May 5, 2020

There are so many things I love about being a DIY Paint retailer that I couldn't begin to list them all. Debi Beard, the owner of our company, is such an inspiration and she is continually challenging her retailers to be the best version of themselves. I have to be honest, when she started a YouTube Channel for her DIY retailers I was a bit hesitant.

I was excited and nervous at the same time, you know the feeling? I love to challenge myself and creating my first YouTube video was quite the challenge! I joined a woodworking group a couple of months ago, before all of this craziness, and made this bench. I was really happy with the final product but it was boring and, well, too “new”. Who likes new? I decided that this little bench would be the subject of my first YouTube video.

I grabbed my Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paints, and some of my favorite IOD products and started filming.

Materials I used:

  • DIY Paint in Little Black Dress, Prairie Grey, and Tarnished Pearl

  • IOD Bohemia Stamp

  • IOD Prim and Trim Transfer

  • IOD Brayer

  • DIY Big Top Sealer

  • paint scraper

  • sand paper

  • Paint Pixie Dusty Brush

  • handmade bench

You can see the results of my efforts right here:

Thanks you so much for watching!
