French Country Inspired Book Makeover: Fast and Easy
Updated: Jun 22, 2020
There is something to be said for all things French Country...they're more romantic than farmhouse, but I absolutely love both styles of home decor. Book makeovers are some of the easiest to replicate and they add so much to the look of a coffee table, mantel, or desk. I couldn't resist sharing one of my favorite book makeovers with you.

Supplies:
old hard cover book
DIY Paint on Crinoline, Letterpress Grey, Gravel Road, Bead Board
IOD paint brayer
IOD Queen Bee Stamp
IOD Distress Stamp
DIY Big Top Sealer
Use DIY Paint with IOD reusable clear craft stamps to design your own vintage inspired books. In this video you'll learn how to layer paint and use stamps to add texture and design to any surface to give it a farmhouse, vintage feel. Layer and stack your books for interest.
You can find old books at your local thrift shop for less than a dollar. I like to vary sizes when I'm picking out which books to buy. I do flip through the books just to make sure that there isn't anything offensive on the pages; you never know who might pick them up at your home. Here's another version of this same design but I used the IOD Lock and Key Mould with IOD air dry clay to add interest to the cover. Doesn't it look just like rust? Look for a future video that will show you how to recreate this look on your own.
I hope you enjoyed the video! Thank you so much for watching! -- Lisa
