Vacation, Summer, Fun...create this bright wood decor with DIY Paint and a JRV Stencil
Updated: Jun 22, 2020
Summer is about sunshine, trips to the lake, and the sand in your toes; doesn't this just scream all of those sentiments? I love how the bright colors play off of the dark background.

It was so easy to make and in under an hour. I started with 3/4" sanded plywood cut to 12" by 16". I used DIY paint to blend the background reminiscent of the lake I visited as a child. I used all of my favorite DIY colors on this piece and with the right tools, you can too!
Supplies:
12" by 16" 3/4" sanded, interior plywood
DIY Paint in Bohemian Blue, Mermaid Tale, Sea Glass, and Old 57 for the background
Jami Ray Vintage (JRV) "Vacation" stencil
DIY Paint in Hey Sailor, Salty Kiss, Fire Starter, Queen Bee, Liquid Sunshine, Bead Board, Old 57, Kissing Booth and Petticoat Pink
DIY Big Top Sealer (I took this picture before I sealed, oops)
Here is my YouTube video showing you exactly how to do this sign, including the blended background.
I hope you enjoyed watching this video and, as always, thank you! -- Lisa
